Reflection

I believe that I have put some good time and effort into most of my blogs. Do I believe that they meet all of the criteria, honestly, no I don't. I am not used to writing blogs like this or even expressing my opinion in this kind of thing, so I think I need to get better in that light. I always put my best into these blogs, because to me, it's all or nothing but that doesn't mean there is not room for improvement. There is always going to be something that I can do better to improve. I review my blogs for grammatical errors and make sure they are easily understood because if they aren't then there won't be a point to reading them, and honestly I'm not entirely sure how I feel about other people being able to see what I put out whenever they want, it isn't something I'm particularly used to. I have, however, learned that you can't just write a blog in around 5 minutes and expect it to be top-class. It takes time and effort and you need to really thin

Post 4 (Puerto Rico)

The island of Puerto Rico is fascinating and has so many aspects to address. The history of Puerto Rico is interesting and complex as it has had many people settle and leave the land throughout its lifetime, and the people and cultures that have settled there have helped shaped Puerto Rico into what it is today. According to the Virtual Caribbean Library, "The Taino people were the next significant culture to impact Puerto Rico, arriving between the 7th and 11th centuries"(VCL) after the Ortoiroid  people settled in there for a while, with little being known about their impact on Puerto Rico, the Taino people left a huge mark on the island and had settled there until the arrival of the Spanish people in the late 1400s. The culture of Puerto Rico is made up of many different cultures mixed together. It possesses a mixture of African, Spanish, European, and American cultures. According to Wikipedia, "Since establishment as an unincorporated territory of the United States

The history of Cuba is vast and has a lot to be covered. The island was conquered in the year 1511 by the Spanish people and in the year 1898, the Spanish withdrew from the island, leaving it to be held by the Americans until they eventually gained their independence in 1902, after that the Americans left so Cuba could be totally free. Cuba was conquered once by the Spanish and has been settled twice, once by the Spanish and again by the Americans in 1898. As such, only those two groups of people have settled this island, after the Americans left in 1902 they Cuba was an independent country. Cuba's culture helps show its past and its lifetime through its food and culture, which are primarily influenced by both Spanish and African cultures. Cuba's history is something I found very interesting, especially hat it was only settled by the Americans for four years so Cuba could develop its own government and gain true independence as well as the fact that Cuban culture still honors

About me

Image
My name is Jarred Duncan and I am a freshman at GGC. I wanted to give a quick introduction to me and who I am as a person. I am nineteen years old and I live a somewhat normal lifestyle, during the weekdays I typically have school and some of those days after school, I have a job I go to so I can make some money. I thoroughly enjoy hanging out with my friends and playing video games. I take great pleasure and pride that I am a very active member in my church and I do what I can to help. A hobby I enjoy a lot is baseball, I played on teams when I was younger, but I stopped playing competitively on a team after a few years and enjoyed it more playing for fun with my friends and family. I wasn't a very social person when I was younger so playing baseball on a team and learning to connect with other people really helped me in the long run to get better at meeting and talking to people.
